Hello! i’m a 16 year old and just recently i got into the world of investing and trading. mainly in the forex market. it interests me and the main reason i’m looking into it is because it’s unlike anything i’ve ever seen before. things like economics and money used to be very confusing to me when i was little, so i have lot’s of curiosity about how the market works and how the price of currency pairs/shares/commodities move.
anywho, the reason why i’m posting on this sub is because at my highschool, i’m allowed to do an internship for the summer at any place of interest! i really want to get closer to the economics world/investment world so i was wondering what a good place to internship at would be. would something like a hedge fund be a place to internship at? should i just look for a successful trader to work for?

Damn, at 16 you must have seen a lot of shit.
Work for minimum wage this summer, be frugal, save $1000. put it in a roth IRA with a vanguard target retirement fund. The closer the year is on the fund the more conservative it is (high percentage of bond). In your mid twenties youll be like holy shit, the 10% early withdrawl shouldnt scare you more than capital gains tax if you hope you die before you get old. You can also use it penalty free on education or buying a house.
I got the same advice at 16 and didnt listen til i was in my twenties.
