Hmmm… interesting question
When i had a full time job and was trading sporadically through the week it was incredibly fun. I studied the market a lot and everytime i placed a trade it was because I felt that I had done the research and found gold.
Now, I day trade and have short term swing trades. I approach it a lot like a job. I would say it has lost some of its fun and appeal, but the great thing about it is the lifestyle that it provides.
It’s the greatest source of pleasure I have atm, not quite addicting though.
if trading stocks, options, futures, forex or whatever else isn’t an addiction, don’t do it.
I wouldn’t call it addicting. I’ve also learned to not chase trades either. But it’s also a great feeling when you win
For me trading isn’t an addiction. I would say what is an addiction is creating your own strategy/methodology and then watching it become successful. For me the addiction is self improvement. Whether it be stocks, physical fitness, or anything else, the self improvement is what matters to me.
The best thing I could do is delete the stockmarket widget off my phone and just trade when I feel like it. Having it in there at all times was a BIG source of distraction and stress.
Wow.. Okay I don’t know if there is a direct answer to this. Or maybe it’s kinda personal to every individual.
But for me and people around i have seen, it is not addictive exactly, but it takes time and one can spend a whole day on a PC. If that is additive, then yes.
